Heat Pumps

EFFICIENT HEATING & COOLING IN YOUR HOME – ALL FROM ONE UNIT

A reversible heat pump can be the ideal HVAC system for homes. It’s effectively an air conditioner unit that can switch to become a heating unit. That means the same hardware providing warmth in the winter also cools in the summer— a single investment in your year-round comfort.

While heat pumps are one of the most efficient and cost-effective heating solutions for your home, normal wear and tear and use over time can lead to breakdowns and system failures. While some issues may seem like minor annoyances, they can actually be indicators of serious underlying problems. If you notice any problems with your heat pump, it’s always best to enlist the assistance of a trained professional who can resolve seemingly small issues before they develop into larger problems that require a full heat pump replacement.

With over 30 years of experience in the air conditioning and heating industry, MDi HVAC & Plumbing, LLC has the skills, training, and expertise to accurately determine if your heat pump can be repaired or needs to be replaced. We offer service for all major makes and models, standing behind our work with numerous industry-leading warranties and customer satisfaction guarantees.

MDi HVAC & Plumbing, LLC offers a comprehensive Residential Maintenance Agreement that is available on all of our clients’ heat pumps, whether installed by us or not. If your new or existing heat pump already includes a manufacturer’s warranty, make sure you consider long-term maintenance. MDi HVAC & Plumbing, LLC offers routine checks and cleaning to ensure you and your family enjoy year-long comfort. Our Residential Maintenance Agreement offers bi-annual tune-ups in the spring and fall. We will clean the outdoor condenser coil, check the air flow and temperature splits and assess the compressor and refrigerant levels.

Energy Efficiency

Heat pumps are more energy-efficient because transferring heat is easier than making it. Under ideal conditions, a heat pump can transfer 300 percent more energy than it consumes. Heat pumps are powered by electricity, so you can save substantially on fuel consumption.

Heating & Cooling

Heat pumps are capable of both heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. This means you only need to buy and install one system as opposed to two. You also only have one system to maintain or repair, as well.

Consistent & Even Comfort

With heat pumps, you’ll worry less about uneven heating and cooling, which is sometimes a problem with traditional HVAC systems. The heat pump uses the same basic physics and mechanism to cool and heat your home. That means that it’s just as good at one as it is at the other. Of course, that means more consistent energy bills, too.

Air Quality

Since heat pumps don’t use combustion, they don’t produce any harmful greenhouse gas emissions. This is becoming more and more important and some communities are even instituting local regulations insisting on lower-emission heat sources.
